Science and God

The Modern science and God.

Today we believe that we are in the age of Technology. We come to know almost daily about some or the other new invention/ advancement in some or the other science faculty. In technology field human being is advancing in leaps and bounds; the new technology becomes old, the very next day. Human being is successful in finding out the subtler and subtler form of the substance and the energy and making its use for welfare, convenience or luxury as well as for the destruction. The author need not write more about scientific advancements and its good and bad results, because most of us know it, experience it and get the information elsewhere. Here we are concerned about the possibility of finding the truth about God with the use of modern science.

One thing is very astonishing if we observe deeply. The scientists say that the age of this earth is 350 billion years; that means the earth has witnessed 3 and a half billion centuries. Human being has never made progress in science in the past billions of centuries which he has made in last 100 years. One can't say that there was no science before the last century. Science dwells in the human brain, and there could not be any period of time when there was no science. It is human nature to find out the new things as hobby, for earning bread, for convenience or for any other use. The invention and the use of electronics and atomic energy has been made in the last hundred years, which could not even be thought by the people for billions of centuries. What is the reason?

When the author asked this question to a few persons, most of them could not understand the question, and few replied with the interesting answers, but were not logical. One Indian man replied that science would come to the stage when there would be no scientific instruments, objects or processes required. Most of the things would be automatically created or carried out only by typical human pronunciations and the Mantra Shastra (science of the pronunciation of words) would be revived again, like it was in Vedic age. This would be the ultimate stage science. Another person replied that the knowledge of atomic, electronic and other technologies was not in any form present for billions of years and suddenly appeared in human brains in the past hundred years is not a miracle; it is a planning of God to punish human being. The time has now come that God wants to punish the people for their sins. In this century, not only science progressed, but also increased are the cruelties and killings like the holocaust, pandemics, tragedies like killings by atom bomb etc. This will stop with the end of the world very shortly, may be another one more century. God does not require much time now to destroy the human beings, almost all preparations are made, and people are ready to kill each other.

The simple definition of science in the opinion of the author is
?research and/or use of what is sensed by human? In the Indian Shastra (scriptures) the God is told to be smaller than the smallest and bigger than the biggest (Anornium Mahatomahiyat). Somebody will think that there will be two Gods with this definition; one smallest and another biggest. No, it simply means God is pervading all from smallest to biggest. Science has been always making research in finding the smallest; as we know that ?atom? which was supposed to be the smallest particle is now broken in many parts. The space research to find the secrets of the celestial bodies has also been proved as a successful front of the modern science. There is doubt; is science searching God knowingly or unknowingly? The experts define the science as under:

The word science comes from the Latin "scientia," meaning knowledge.

How do we define science? According to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, the definition of science is "knowledge attained through study or practice," or "knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws, esp. as obtained and tested through scientific method [and] concerned with the physical world."

What does that really mean? Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. This system uses observation and experimentation to describe and explain natural phenomena. The term science also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it.

What is the purpose of science? Perhaps the most general description is that the purpose of science is to produce useful models of reality.
Most scientific investigations use some form of the scientific method. You can find out more about the scientific method here. Science as defined above is sometimes called pure science to differentiate it from applied science, which is the application of research to human needs. Fields of science are commonly classified along two major lines: - Natural sciences, the study of the natural world, and - Social sciences, the systematic study of human behavior and society.
