Dear Swamiji,
You have written that just like the dropletrs of water have to evaporate and fall down many times before joining the ocean again, we may have to take many rebirths before merging with god.
If there( Adwaita) is nothing but god, how is it possiblse to differnentiate one part of god to retain its idsentity, birh after birth as god has no form and is indivisible?
Please explain as this question has been bugging me for a long time

Shri Narayan Raghunathan,
Namaskar,
An example of drop of ocean is given to make the learners of the Atmajnan understand that Jeeva (life) is not different from Atma (soul), like drop is the ocean, except for the time that drop takes to travel back and merge into ocean. This example is not useful for those who have already learnt the science of self realization to higher stage and have understood firmly that all the living and non-living things in this universe and their interactions are illusory and appear (sensed) within "self" (Atma) only. Atma (God or "self") alone exists and is all-pervading.
Our Vedas state the eternal knowledge in "Anvaya" and "Vyatireka" way. The facts which are easily understood are stated with examples and subsequently it is proved that the stated facts were told as facts only for the understanding of the "Shishyas" (disciples). For example Upanishada explains the creation of universe in many ways. Somewhere it is written that "Hiranyagarbha" was created first out of "Avyakta" and somewhere it is written that "Brahma" was first created. Ultimately, Upanishada states that "Nehnanyasti Kinchana" (i.e. this universe was never created.
When there is no creation at all for the Jnanees, what difference it makes to state whether this was created first or that was created first.
Whatever is stated in various articles on the website www.onlineselfrealization.com <http://www.onlineselfrealization.com/> is of the use of the new learners as well as for those who have read some books on this subject. Deeper thinking, Guruseva and Shraddha clears the doubts.
Thank you
Swami
Question : Narayan Raghunathan,Burnaby, B.C., Canada M/65 5th May 2009
Dear Swami,
In your explanation on creation, you say that God being intelligence, wanted to see himself and that is the reason for the creation. Are we not then attributing qualities to a Nirguna Brahman? Please clarify.

Shri Narayana Raghunathan,
Namaskar,
It is extremely difficult for the people to understand that the world is as illusory as a dream. If you tell them that the world does not exist, they will surely call you a fool. It therefore, becomes necessary to explain the existence of the world experienced by the common people. It is further explained by Vedas to the seekers of the ultimate truth that this experience of the world is only "Jnanmaya" i.e it is only experienced in the thinking. Since, Atma (God or Soul) is said to be omniscient and can sense what is thought by Him.
This property of thinking is also attributed to Atma for understanding of the disciples. (accusation).Upanishada and Geeta (15/3) further state that in the state of "knowledge" nothing like universe is sensed. (So thinking about universe is also a myth). What Geeta and Upanishada have stated is the experience of the Jnanis and the self-realized saints, so they are not afraid of life and death as well any kind of worries.
Thank you,
Swami Aniljee
