Dear Swamiji
Namaste,I am very happy that i stumbled upon this website because it resonates with me.I would be grateful if you could throw light on two questions.
Firstly why do people advocate animal skins to be use as meditation mats (even Shiva is shown meditating on a tiger's skin)when it is violence to be killing any living ceature?
Secondly ,I agree that we create our own world but how is it that many of us create the same world at the same time? How do all of us create the world of our office on Monday morning?How is it uniform if we are all creating individually? For eg One soul may desire to create his world at some other time in his journey.How is it that we all see the same things happening? eg The boss shouting at all of us.Are we in agreement together that our worlds will merge at certain points in our experience in life?How do we see the same physical features ex a park our home etc

Blanket also could be substitute to animal skin for meditation. The whole
purpose is that one should be able to sit in one position for longer time. The meaning of Shiva wearing/using animal skin is symbolic and it will be difficult to explain it here.
It is true that one creates his own world for himself. Most of the other things which you mentioned are the creation of our memory. In fact there is neither a office nor a home or garden and the people in it. It is all illusion that is experienced by our five senses, say Hindu shastras. The world created by us is the same as we create world in the dreams which subsequently vanishes after we get up. Once we get up from the influence of Maya or called Avidya (ignorance) we do not get the experience of the world as you have described.
Please refer to the Chapter 15 Sloka 3 of Bhagwat Geeta.
However, unless one atttains self-realization by grace and guidance from
knowledgeable (Jnani) Guru one can not understand and believe that this world is illusionary and what we see, act and experience is our own creation of mind.
Whenever our mind is defunct, like in sleep, unconsciousness or death, where goes the world?

I believe that, "we don't have any control over anything in the world.Everything will happen according to god's will and wish." But human being should do his duty(karthavy) and should not bother about the results(karmanyevaadhikarasthe maa phaleshu kadachana). But, to do the duty or any work, whethet god should invoke us to do the work or we ourselves should make our mind to work . If God should invoke us, then what should we do ?. If we ourselves should invoke ourselves to do the work, who will invoke us inside us ?

writes Acharya Vinoba Bhave in his book Geeta Pravachan.
If we give up I, me, my, mine and perform our natural duties for sake of God, we automatically get inspiration from inside about what should we do. It is however, better to surrender to some knowledgeable Guru and seek his guidance.
