Parents of a young woman of 27 years used to come to me last year with their daughter with the hope that my blessings would heal their daughter, who had become insane. The young girl had almost no flesh on her body. She was treated by the Doctors giving her chemical pills and electric shocks. Her condition was precarious. They were living near my Mumbai Ashram. I asked them to come daily. The girl had stopped taking regular meals; instead she would eat something very little. Her parents agreed and they would send their daughter to Ashram daily accompanied by somebody. Anyhow, I was successful in impressing her, and would compel her to take milk, ghee, dry fruits and some Indian food. In addition I would give her some Aayurvedic herbs regularly as medicines. She was insane for past ten years, her parents had told me, without giving any reasons for her insanity. Within two weeks there was some progress in her health. I had become confident that I would bring her to normal stage, but those people stopped coming to me after three weeks without giving reasons. After few days I came to understand from my devotee who was their neighbor that they stopped coming to me due to fear that I will charge them money for costly food items and medicines and ask for the fees. Their fear was in fact baseless, because I never had demanded money to anybody irrespective or poor or rich for any treatment. One day the younger sister, who sometimes used to accompany the patient, told me that the patient girl had affair with a boy when she was studying in ninth class. (Approximately age of 15). She further told me that the insane condition started with the sudden frustration in her sister due to the unknown reason. I knew this and the reason very well due to the blessings of my Guru before she revealed me. I further knew what kind of relations the patient had with her boy friend but I preferred not to talk.
Nowadays, there is a danger of such kind of cases increasing in human society, due to involvement in keen relationship with opposite sex in the teen age. The frustration or depression has become a social disease.
Interestingly, the initial stage of frustration is the best time for the spiritual inclination and study of the self realization. One must understand at that stage that the need of Vedic spiritual education from a self realized Guru is must to avoid the recurrence of the frustrations. But unfortunately, this does not happen. This does not happen due to absence of faith, absence of proper directions, lack of knowledge and less possibility of getting knowledgeable Guru. Some readers may ridicule my statement that the early state of depression or frustration is the best time to take on to spiritual learning. Most of the people in the world are digging into coal mines hoping for a diamond, which is a very rare possibility. It is therefore, difficult to make them understand what I am saying. But the people who have read and understood Geeta would support my statement though they had not brought in the doctrines of Geeta in their own life.
The first chapter of Geeta is human frustration. (Vishad Yoga). Lord Krishna was known to Arjuna for quite a long time and they were very close, but Lord preferred to explain the meaning of life to Arjuna by way of Geeta when Arjuana was in acute depression of mind. Lord told Geeta when Arjuna was frustrated, not before that. This supports my statement about the relation between frustration and spirituality. In the Mahabharat war, the first ever written account of the war, Arjuna the chief warrior from the side of Pandavas confronted the enemies who were none else but his own relatives; his grandfather, Guru, cousins, and elderly people. Suddenly, Arjuna got frustrated with the thoughts in his mind that he would have to kill his own men. He remembered the old days when his Grandfather used to love him in childhood and he remembered his Guru who loved him very much being a number one student. Lot of memories of the past that suddenly influxed his mind affected Arjuna, who sat in the chariot due to cramp in his body. Lord, understanding the situation and the state of mind of Arjuna told him the terrific truth of life in first few sentences.
Failure is a boon in the field of spirituality and success the punishment. Successful person remains in the worldly affairs for still a higher and higher success, and though he shows his smartness to the world he literally carry the great burden of responsibilities, extra work, ignorance to own health, ignorance to family members, inclinations to unethical enjoyments etc. The success adds to the tensions without any extra comforts to body and mind. Successful man if ignores spirituality, becomes a donkey wearing a green goggle of success. Unsuccessful man is somewhat unhappy for sometime but is relieved of his additional responsibilities. Unsuccessful man bears a tension but much less than that of a successful man. Happiness of success does not last long. Success stories are forcibly fetched memories and are of no use in the present. Lord Krishna in BhagwatGeeta had told Arjuna , ?I am success and failure?. Lord wanted to tell all that whether it is success or failure both being God or God's actions, both are same. The human ego of success has no meaning, because the ?doer? of the all the actions is God.
